LEONORA ART PRIZE

The artwork Mosaic Burning 2 has won both the Painting Category and the Overall Prize at this year's Leonora Art Prize in outback WA.

A painting about paint, it is made using ash and marri resin on a mosaic of cropped artist's palettes alternating with paint sample cards. Each of these 'pixels' plays its part in building an image of the ash-cloud from the 2015 Northcliffe fire.
